Given the rapid pace of change in the technology industry, Darden faculty members are actively working with alumni and practitioners that work in technology to develop new courses, cases and research on the issues they face. The Career Development Center is also working to expand recruiting relationships with technology companies and provide students more opportunities to engage directly in the Silicon Valley ecosystem.
The percentage of Darden graduates working in technology grew to 12.5% with the Class of 2012. Students interested in the technology industry have the opportunity to engage with alumni and professionals working in technology through networking events and career panels hosted by the Darden Technology Club. They can also participate in the student-planned West Coast Job Trek in January. Company visits in last year’s West Coast Job Trek included Google, Facebook, Twitter, Cisco and a variety of other firms in Silicon Valley and Seattle.
