The Building an Ethical World Blog is an initiative being led by the Olsson Center for Applied Ethics at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
Ethics is about having meaningful conversations on the subject of how the decisions we make impact one another. With globalization and the advent of new communications technologies, our different perspectives on morality—whether they be cultural, political, religious, or ideological in origin—bump into each other with ever greater frequency, sometimes with tragic results.
The logic of creating this blog is to reclaim civic space for conversations that can have a positive impact. Our approach is different. We think we need a dialogue that cuts across generations, across walks of society, across academic and professional disciplines, and across cultures to put ethics and ethical issues center stage. This approach is reflected both by our selection of authors and by the range of content.
