The Economist magazine’s recent article, “Samba Management,” discusses the growing presence of top business schools in Brazil and prominently features the Darden GEMBA program’s Brazil residency, which is now in session. During this two-week residency — the second of six residencies that occur during the GEMBA program — Darden’s Global MBA for Executives students study and travel with Darden faculty, splitting their time between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janiero and attending classes including Global Economies and Markets, Leading Organizations, and Financial Management. Additionally, they participate in Global Leadership Explorations, which include a visit to the Sao Paulo stock exchange, a meeting with aircraft manufacturer Embraer, a tour of the Rio favelas and a meeting with the Olympic organizing committee.
