Toolkit adopted in 80,000+ MOOC

Strategist’s Toolkit coauthor, Michael Lenox, will be using the toolkit as the basis for the course, Foundations of Business Strategy, to be launched on the Coursera platform on March 4th.  This massively open online course, or MOOC, has over 80,000 students enrolled.  Over the six week course, students will apply various tools in the Strategist’s Toolkit to real world cases to be discussed in the course.  Students in the course are being given complementary access to draft chapters of the book which is scheduled to be published in mid-June, 2013.

Publication date set for Toolkit

Darden Business Publishing has announced that The Strategist’s Toolkit by Jared Harris and Michael Lenox will be published in mid-June, 2013.  The book will be available both electronically and print-on-demand through Darden Business Publishing and online retailers such as and Barnes and Noble.

Toolkit piloted in Darden MBA Program

For the past three years, a draft version of the Strategist’s Toolkit has been used in the first year required Strategy course in the MBA program of the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Over 320 students per year spread across five sections, have used the tools in the Toolkit as the basis for their analysis of various cases discussed in the classroom. At the end of the term, the students are asked to integrate the various tools in the toolkit to provide a comprehensive strategic analysis of a business.
