UVA Commemorating Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Many Inspiring Events

By Susannah Fuller-

Every year, the University of Virginia’s Office of the Vice President and Chief Officer for Diversity and Equity, along with dozens of UVA departments and offices, partners with local organizations to offer a variety of events that celebrate and aim to extend the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s work for social justice.

The theme for this year’s Community MLK Celebration is “Be the Difference,” with events scheduled from January 15 through February 5. From A Movement Odyssey Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Muhammad Ali to a film screening of “Martin Luther King Jr.: A Personal Portrait” to panel discussions, you can review the entire calendar of events and read Anne E. Bromley’s UVA Today article covering the community celebration.
