With Darden’s first Part-Time MBA application deadline coming up this Saturday, 1 October, we wanted to share a few resources for readers who may be putting the finishing touches on their application. As with all of our upcoming Part-Time MBA deadlines, this first deadline is focused on Part-Time MBA cohort enrolling August 2023.

Planning to apply in the October round? Join us Wednesday, 28 September at 6:00 p.m. Eastern for a Part-Time MBA Application Hotline webinar.

Part-Time MBA Application Hotline Webinar

Wednesday, 28 September | 6:00 p.m. ET

During this session, Darden Admissions will share tips and insights for Part-Time MBA applicants. This webinar satisfies 50% of our Part-Time MBA application fee waiver offer (a $250 value).

Have you checked out the Class Profile web page for our inaugural Part-Time MBA cohort? This page includes highlights about our newest Part-Time MBA students. Looking for even more data? In our Part-Time MBA application launch post, we also shared insights about the academic profile of the Part-Time MBA Class of 2025.

Listen as you work! We have a number of helpful application-focused podcast resources for Part-Time MBA applicants. Our application tips podcast playlist on Spotify features micro-episodes with members of the Darden Admissions Committee for every step of the application process – from researching schools and choosing a deadline to crafting your short answer responses and preparing for a Darden interview.

And in late August, Part-Time MBA Admissions Committee members Brett Twitty and Katherine Alford hosted an application launch podcast episode in which they tackled common Part-Time MBA applicant questions, including “When should I apply?” “How does the standardized test waiver process work?”, “Are scholarships available for Part-Time MBA applicants?” and more. Essential listening!

Want more tips? Here are two bonus application-related thoughts.

  1. As we often note, the application process is a storytelling exercise. In fact, we encourage applicants to think about the application as an initial introduction to you. With this in mind, take a step back from your application: What is most important for our Admissions Committee to know about you? How can the elements of the Part-Time MBA application help you advance these priorities? Be sure to think about your application as our Admissions Committee will – Holistically and objectively. How does each part of your application work together to provide an overall impression of who you are and what you’ve achieved but also who you will be in the Darden community?
  2. In our Part-Time MBA application process, interviews are by invitation only, and if you are invited to interview, it means you are being considered for an offer of admission. Yes! The Darden interview is conversational, and your interviewer will write up the conversation and these notes will be added to your application and shared with our Admissions Committee. As a result, the interview is a great opportunity to bring depth to your story, and help our Admissions Committee better understand your motivations, your values, how you think about and see the world and other important considerations that can be harder to glean from the application alone. Pro Tip: Be sure to listen to our Interview Tips podcast episode as you prepare for your Darden interview.
