But what about business students who want to be on the VC side of the table? Cara\u2019s enthusiasm for entrepreneurship was further fueled during her <a href=\"https:\/\/news.darden.virginia.edu\/2019\/09\/04\/when-you-intern-with-a-startup\/\">internship<\/a>, where she was a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darden.virginia.edu\/batten-institute\/education\/technology-venture-fellows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Batten Technology Venture Fellow<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> for Greenspring Associates. She worked across product, marketing and strategy for their portfolio company <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/brighthealthplan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Bright Health<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Q:\u00a0Why is EVC something you\u2019re passionate about?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I love supporting the ecosystem of entrepreneurs, encouraging people to work for or help an early stage company, and I am interested in pursuing venture capital in the long term.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Q:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<strong>What makes Darden a good fit for students interested in EVC?<\/strong><\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">A:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> Darden has a wealth of resources, including the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.darden.virginia.edu\/batten-institute\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Batten Institute<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\"> that support paths in entrepreneurship and VC, including the annual<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/entrepreneurship.virginia.edu\/ecup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">E-cup competition<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">, Technology Venture Fellowship and Batten Venture internship program. The core curriculum also prepares students wear a lot of different hats in an early stage company as well as strong technical skills needed for a venture capital role.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Q:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0<strong>How does EVC reach across industries? How does the EVC Club offer support?<\/strong><\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">A:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0People start companies not just in tech, but in all sectors. The EVC Club doesn&#8217;t have an industry focus for entrepreneurship and we have tight relationship<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u00a0with VC naturally because\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">of the entrepreneurial community<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. We also support people that are interested in start<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">&#8211;<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">ups and operating roles \u2014 not just <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">founders<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:259}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Q:\u00a0What are you looking forward to with EVC Club this year?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A:<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">I am excited about growing the community around Darden&#8217;s entrepreneurs, VCs and students who are interested in operating\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">at\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">early stage companies.
