Pursuing an entrepreneurial career path or launching your own business at Darden can be intimidating, to say the least. Luckily, Darden student entrepreneurs and founders have access to a host of resources, including a wide variety of programs operated by the Batten Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, insightful Darden faculty, knowledgeable career development staff and approachable alumni, as well as a growing startup community in the Charlottesville area. In a recent video series launched by the Batten Institute, Monish Tyagi (MBA ’18) interviews these members of the Classes of 2018 and 2019 who have launched their own businesses as Darden students:
- Felix Artmann (MBA ’19) is the co-founder of Bonaverde, creators of the “Berlin” — a coffeemaker that brews coffee by roasting and grinding fresh, single-origin beans
- Kimberly Diaz (MBA ’19) is the co-founder and CEO of oneTILT, an organization training education managers in order to make schools and nonprofits more diverse and inclusive
- Meg Greenhalgh Pyre (MBA ’18) is co-founder and partner, and James Graham (MBA ’18) is partner at Brandefy, an app that compares store brands to name brands to help shoppers save time and money
- Courtney Harris (MBA ’18) founded luxury footwear brand Scarlatta and is currently a Senior Analyst at Vanguard
