It promotes and supports student involvement with start-ups, venture capital (VC) firms, search funds, or recently acquired closely held enterprises (ETA).<\/p>\n<p>Students gain entrepreneurial experience and companies with limited funds benefit from having access to talented MBA students for the summer.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>How are Darden students prepared to succeed in an entrepreneurial or venture environment? <\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Darden was recently ranked <a href=\"https:\/\/news.darden.virginia.edu\/2024\/11\/12\/top-10-and-rising-uva-dardens-commitment-to-entrepreneurship-gains-momentum\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">No. 10 in Poets &amp; Quants\u2019 2025 World\u2019s Best MBA Programs for Entrepreneurship<\/a> and noted for its high percentage of faculty teaching at least one entrepreneurship or innovation-focused course during the last academic year. Students take part in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darden.virginia.edu\/venture-capital\/programs\/vc-learning-series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Venture Capital learning series<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.darden.virginia.edu\/batten-institute\/education\/tech-learning-series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tech Learning series<\/a>, ETA Learning series, competitions, and workshops throughout the year.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>What types of projects can Darden students contribute to?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>We\u2019ve compiled a list of sample projects.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Competitive assessments<\/li>\n<li>Brand and\/or product strategy<\/li>\n<li>Operational analysis<\/li>\n<li>Planning and analysis development<\/li>\n<li>Market strategy<\/li>\n<li>Management function analysis<\/li>\n<li>Finance function analysis<\/li>\n<li>Business plan preparation and review<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Is my company qualified to participate?<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Qualifying companies are early-stage, start-up, search funds and search acquired businesses (ETA), venture or angel-backed companies with limited funds for an MBA intern salary. There is a strong preference for companies started\/acquired in the last five years, but that is not a requirement.
