T<\/span>oday the Darden Center for Global Initiatives launched the global academic programs available to our full-time MBA students this year. We have eight exciting Global Business Experiences (GBEs) in a wide range of countries around the world.  This year many of the GBE\u2019s include some hands-on consulting engagements for students.  We also are glad to have GBEs to China and Spain back this March. <\/font> <\/p>\n

In March we will offer the following GBEs to both First Year and Second Year students: <\/font><\/h1>\n

BRAZIL <\/b>with faculty lead Marc Modica: <\/b>students will spend the week in Salvador da Bahia, consulting on-site with Brazilian organizations.<\/font> <\/p>\n

SOUTH AFRICA <\/b>with faculty lead Mary Margaret Frank: students will examine the lessons learned from South Africa on the need for cooperation between the public and private sectors to grow an economy.<\/font> <\/p>\n

CHINA <\/b>with faculty lead Marc Lipson: students will explore the Chinese culture and business practices in Shanghai by engaging in various company visits and cultural experiences <\/b><\/font><\/font><\/font> <\/p>\n

SPAIN <\/b>with faculty lead Jeanne Liedtka: <\/b>students will apply the theme of \u201cStrategy as Design\u201d to the unique artists and architecture of Barcelona and see how it applies to various business environments <\/b><\/font><\/font><\/font> <\/p>\n

TURKEY <\/b>with faculty lead Marc Johnson: <\/b> students will investigate Istanbul\u2019s\u2019 unique position of being in the crossroads of where East meets West and take a close look at the business of growth in Turkey <\/b><\/font><\/font><\/font> <\/p>\n

<\/font><\/b> <\/p>\n

GBEs available in May for First Year students include: <\/font><\/h1>\n

ARGENTINA <\/b>with faculty lead Jon Megibow: students will spend the week on-site in Mendoza, the heart of Argentina\u2019s wine-making region, consulting with small to mid-sized Argentine wine firms.<\/font> <\/p>\n

ISRAEL <\/b>with faculty lead Gal Raz: students will be exploring entrepreneurship and innovation across Israel and working as consulting teams for Israeli entrepreneurs.<\/font> <\/p>\n

SWEDEN  <\/b>with faculty lead Andrea Larson:<\/b> students will investigate the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability in Sweden and Scandinavia by consulting with Swedish firms. <\/font> <\/p>\n

Global Field Electives (GFEs): <\/font><\/h1>\n

Second Year students will also have Global Field Elective (GFEs) opportunities this fall.
