S<\/span>o far this academic year, \u00a0Darden has launched\u00a0seven Global Field Experiences (GFEs)\u00a0in all corners of the globe,\u00a0ranging for Tunisia, Sweden and Indonesia. \u00a0 There\u00a0has been a high\u00a0demand for these types of international experiential projects from our Second Year students, as it gives students\u00a0the opportunity to\u00a0assist international clients in\u00a0solving real-time business issues\u00a0they are currently facing in their specific country and culture.\u00a0 Second Year student,\u00a0\u00a0Leslie Viano, who\u00a0participated in the Tunisia GFE, stated:<\/p>\n

“What most resonated with me was how much I learned about a country through a one quarter-long project. Building a financial model and presenting a new venture to potential clients are skills we learn in class. Yet, these skills are only useful if you know the cultural context, and I quickly realized I did not. It’s up to us to ask the right questions, do the research, and most importantly, adapt quickly to the circumstances to provide the most effective recommendations.”<\/em><\/p>\n
