If you’re a follower of the Darden Report Online (and you should be!), you know that the University of Virginia Darden School of Business has a goal of reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2020. And this focus on sustanability is hardly surprising given the school’s values and core mission: [T]o improve the world by developing and inspiring leaders and by advancing knowledge.

And while UVA Darden has largely achieved its carbon goals, the school’s efforts to reduce its environmental impact continue. Thanks to the leadership of our students, including Second Year, Eileen Cowdery (Class of 2019), Darden is now moving closer to a zero waste future, with the launch of a new composting initiative.

As part of this program, Darden will now provide more compostable packaging at its dining facilities as well as compost bins to ensure sustainable disposal of waste. Watch the video below and learn more!
