The Center for Global Initiatives blog and the Darden Report both highlighted the annual Global Food Festival, held in late September. This much-anticipated event featured 32 teams of Full-Time MBA Darden students who prepared and shared food or cultural performances from their country or region of origin. Nearly 30 unique nationalities were represented at this signature event, and over 600 community members attended.

The event was sponsored by the student-led Global Business and Culture Club. In the recently admitted Full-Time MBA Class of 2024, 43 percent of students have international backgrounds.

“Undercover” faculty judges attended the event to rank their top choices for best food, best presentation, and best performance. The winners were:

Best Food:

  • 1st Place: Bangladesh ($100 prize)
  • 2nd Place: Nigeria ($75 prize)
  • 3rd Place: Brazil ($50 prize)

Best Presentation (attire/decoration):

  • 1st Place: Spain ($50 prize)

Best Performance:

  • 1st Place: Bollywood Dance India ($50 prize)
