Last week was an exciting time to be on Darden Grounds as we celebrated the official grand opening and ribbon cutting for The Forum Hotel!
The entire University of Virginia community celebrated a dramatic enhancement to North Grounds with the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of The Forum Hotel, operated by Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.
“As you will learn today, The Forum Hotel is critical to Darden’s academic mission and learning experience, and it’s Kimpton’s first ever on-campus hotel,” said Darden Dean Scott Beardsley. “To put it simply: The property combines world-class education and world-class hospitality.”
The 198-room boutique hotel is a gathering place where food, drink, entertainment, conversation, education, reflection, and more can be shared by all in a vibrant setting. Anchoring the on-property dining are Birch & Bloom, a modern steakhouse with regional influences, and The Good Sport, a craft beer bar with local brews and familiar tavern fare.
The hotel formally opened on 12 April, with Darden Executive MBA students in Charlottesville for a leadership residency serving as the first guests.
