Sukari Brown (MBA ’23) was the recipient of the 2023 Edie Hunt Inspiration Award, given by the Forté Foundation in Dallas during their annual MBA Leadership Conference. Forté is a nonprofit working to launch women into successful and significant careers. The organization celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023.
The award has been given to Darden students two years in a row. Natalia Alvarez Diaz (MBA ’22) was the recipient of the award in 2022.
This spring, Brown was elected by her peers to serve as the Full-Time MBA student graduation speaker during the 2023 commencement ceremony.
During a scholarship recognition event in 2022, Brown shared details about her commitment to women’s health care and tech investing and how her scholarship allowed her to pursue this passion.
Brown was also featured on the Experience Darden podcast, where she discussed her extracurricular involvement as the President-Elect of the Private Equity Club, a Breakthrough Scholar, a Consortium member and a portfolio manager for Darden Capital Management. She was also meaningfully involved with the Black Business Student Association (BBSA), Darden African Business Organization (DABO) and the Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Club (EVCC).
