In case you missed it (or just want to review the key points), here is a link to last week’s application launch webinar with Senior Assistant Dean of Admissions Dawna Clarke and Senior Director of Admissions Whitney Kestner. Topics included a deep dive on the application sections and the Admissions Committee’s mindset when reviewing applications, plus examples of impactful essay responses and encouragement for reapplicants.

Our Admissions Committee is here to demystify the process. Check out these tips and be sure to join us for a coffee chat or upcoming event.

Senior Assistant Dean of Admissions Dawna Clarke

“Our admissions process is holistic in nature, meaning we look at a variety of different factors as we are making evaluations,” she said. “Know that the people who are in admissions at Darden are not only passionate about Darden but very passionate about connecting with applicants and reading your stories.” — Dawna Clarke

Managing Director of Admissions Whitney Kestner

“The more a candidate knows themselves and are able to articulate that through the application process, whether that’s the submitted application as well as the interview and different engagements, I think that’s something that really helps a candidate stand out,” she said. In this process it can be easy to try to compare yourself with others. Everybody’s background and path leading up to school is going to be unique to them. I would spin that and say your opportunity is to help us get to know you, your unique background and the contributions you will bring to the Darden community.”  Whitney Kestner
