Last week, Darden Career Center Senior Director and Career Coach Paul Reeder (MBA ’98) and Director of Admissions Whitney Kestner hosted a webinar for prospective and admitted students highlighting Darden’s student-centric career-support capabilities.

The session featured:

  • An introduction to the Career Center team
  • An overview of the two-plus year career timeline for students, from before starting their program to starting their post-graduation job
  • A report on the record-breaking career outcomes of the Class of 2019

The session also included advice on ways to make the most of additional time at home due to physical distancing measures, such as practicing your story.

Webinar attendees were invited to submit questions during the webinar, and we’ve responded to a few of the most frequently asked admissions topics below:

I had a GRE exam scheduled this spring, but due to COVID-19 my exam and IELTS test have been cancelled. Are you offering any flexibility, given the circumstances?

Yes, we are offering alternatives for applicants impacted by test center closures. Darden Admissions recently rolled out unprecedented flexibility for Round 3 applicants in light of the coronavirus pandemic. View the press release here or listen to Executive Director of Admissions Dawna Clarke discuss the changes on Episode #57 of the Experience Darden Podcast.

How can I learn about the student experience and culture and how students build community?

In November, we held a webinar in which current students shared all the details of the student experience, including why Charlottesville creates a close-knit residential experience for the full-time MBA program that lasts well beyond graduation. View the webinar recording hereStudents love to call Charlottesville home. If you don’t get in, you know you have some criteria to improve, and it’s important to know that Darden doesn’t view reapplicants negatively!
